After releasing two albums of original music, achieving international success, and performing sold-out shows in New York City for several years as Chasing Sunday, members of the band started jamming with friends in Westchester and formed THE SHAVES. With more than a decade of success in bringing audiences to their feet, THE SHAVES have become one of the area’s most sought-after cover bands. After recording their EP, Let It Go, in 2012, the band decided to focus exclusively on their mainstay – delivering unique versions and mash-ups of popular covers from contemporary and classic pop, rock, R&B, classical, alternative, and disco charts. With hundreds of songs in their repertoire from Beethoven to the Beastie Boys, THE SHAVES deliver exactly the right entertainment at the right moments.
THE SHAVES have performed their classic covers and infused creative cred at events such as: The Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest in Park City, Utah; the Women’s Prison Association benefit at the Boathouse in Central Park with the cast of Orange is The New Black; Northern Westchester Hospital’s Music Therapy Program fundraiser with Paul Shaffer and Lew Soloff; the finish line of the Westchester Triathlon; the annual Feed Me Fresh Benefit for The Mount Kisco Childcare Center; apres ski at Windham Mountain Resort; the 30th Anniversary Benefit for The Westchester Land Trust at the Rockefeller Family Playhouse; weddings, corporate parties, and more!
THE SHAVES have also been seen in New York City hotspots, like The Bitter End and Arelene’s Grocery, as well as in Fairchester favorites, such as Growlers Beer and Bistro, Northstar, The Horse & Hound, and The Cos Cobber.
THE SHAVES brought apres ski entertainment to a whole new level at Windham Mount Resort MLK weekend. They were awesome! Can't wait to have them back again.

A life-long musician, Peter first made a name for himself during his college years, attracting sold-out crowds looking to hear his unique percussive-style acoustic guitar and captivating vocals. It was during this time when he honed his skills as a songwriter, creating an original sound, as a pioneering member of the 90's folk/rock scene, and opened locally for acts like Jonathan Edwards (Sunshine Go Away Today) and Dave Matthews. A natural performer, Carucci went on to co-found several bands in New York City, most notably Chasing Sunday, a top NYC and internationally successful band, and Steve Liesman & The Mooncussers. He has co-written and produced over forty songs on five albums and has written over a hundred additional songs, many of which have been played live or featured on artist recordings. With Chasing Sunday, the intoxicating intensity and energy of Peter's vocals, guitar, and songwriting achieved chart success in Europe and hit the Top 10 Heatseeker Chart in New York City. A multi-instrumentalist, Peter has performed around the globe and shared stages and studios with musical legends like: Bob Weir, Sammy Hagar, Jeff Chimenti, Bobby Keys, Chuck Leavell, Paul Shaffer, Lew Soloff, Jay Lane, Jason Crosby, Papa Mali, D.J. Logic, Jonathan Wilson, Santana, Bernie Williams, the Heartbreakers, Jim Devito, George Murphy, Fantasia, Gala, Anna Falchi, Yannick Noah, Patrick Bruel, and many others. In 2018 Peter co-founded Four26 Studios with SHAVES bandmate Becki Fleischer to write, produce, and record original music and custom songs for special occasions. Four26 Studios also manages THE SHAVES and provides live music solutions for every space and any occasion.
Raised in Indiana, Becki found her love of music at a young age, winning vocal competitions and playing guitar, piano, French horn, trumpet and any other instrument she could get her hands on. She is now known for her clear and compelling vocals and smooth rhythm guitar. Layering in ear-grabbing harmonies and taking the lead, she has contributed to several area cover bands and was a founding member of the indie-rock band LAWLESS. Becki is also a songwriter, producer, and arranger, and opened Four26 Studios with Peter in 2018.
A versatile guitarist and teacher, Wilson has mastered styles ranging from pop/rock, world music, and jazz to classical. As a session musician, he has recorded for many labels, including Universal Records, Sony Music, and Def Japan and performs throughout the world with various musical ensembles. Wilson holds a degree in classical guitar from the Accademia Musicale in Florence, Italy, a BFA in jazz performance from City College, where he was honored as a valedictorian candidate, and a Masters in Music Education from Boston University. He is a working composer and introduced his first album titled “Viaggio” in 2012. His compositions can also be heard in the 2014 feature film “Shelter.”
An accomplished percussionist and composer, Frank is currently one of the most sought-after musicians in New York City and maintains an extremely active performance schedule with several ensembles in and around the area. Frank’s compositions have been premiered and performed in several major U.S. cities, including New York, Boston, and Hartford, as well as Florence, Rome and Bari, Italy. In 2000 he was awarded the American Music Center Margaret Fairbank Jory prize for his composition “Struggle in Microcosm.” In addition to that distinction, the same composition was selected to serve as the opening work of the International New Music Consortium’s Summer 2000 tour to Italy. As a performing artist, Picarazzi has been featured with dozens of performing groups as a vibraphonist and percussion soloist and is featured on several different recordings. He is a founding member of the popular fusion 4th "Alpha Mosaic” and in April 2003 he made his Carnegie Hall debut as a member of the “Marimba Spiritual” ensemble.
Scott grew up loving all kinds of music and began to hone in on the bass at a young age. He studied jazz and classical music and has played bass in a wide variety of projects - from jazz quartets and big bands to Grateful Dead cover bands. Having performed in master classes with greats, such as Dizzy GiIlespie, Stan Getz, and Jimmy Maxwell, he is known for his ability to ground the rhythm section and keep the energy moving for every song in virtually every musical genre - from classic rock to classical, from pop to punk.
THE SHAVES performed at Westchester Land Trust's 30th Anniversary Benefit. Our guests ranged in age and everyone had positive feedback on the music and their energy. I communicated very closely with Becki, who was always incredibly sweet, friendly, and professional through the ups and downs of organizing a gala. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a fantastic band in the New York metro area!
